Starting December 1, 2026, Victor Kovalev, founder of the international project Potatoes.News agus Turas Eadar-nàiseanta a’ Bhuntàta (IPT), is leaving his position at the Agrotrade group of companies (the “Potato System” direction) to focus fully on developing his own international initiatives in the potato industry.

A new stage

Victor Kovalev has worked for several years within the Agrotrade group of companies, where he helped develop the “Potato System” (“Картофельная Система”) direction. Over this time, alongside his work at the company, he launched and grew two independent international projects: the news platform Potatoes.News and the International Potato Tour, a series of professional trips and events for people working in the potato industry around the world.

As these projects have grown, Kovalev has decided to dedicate his primary professional attention to them going forward.

“Over the past few years, Potatoes.News and the International Potato Tour have grown from side projects into something that genuinely matters to the international potato community. I’ve reached the point where I can no longer give them the attention they deserve while combining this work with my responsibilities at Agrotrade. Starting December 1, I will be focusing fully on these two projects,” said Victor Kovalev.
